据悉，如果贝林厄姆想要承担这份职责，那么他就需要改变对媒体的态度，因为除了合同采访之外，贝林厄姆在代表国家队参加第四十场比赛之前，还没有接受过英国媒体的采访。

索斯盖特就曾鼓励英格兰的队员分担接受采访的责任，但贝林厄姆对此并不热衷。这位21岁的球员在本周坚称，因为媒体对其家人的骚扰，他在上一届欧洲杯期间限制了自己接受媒体的访问。
